What are your occupations, where do you work?  

Ty:  Associate Director at P&G,

Anita: I’m a full time mom now, previously I was a VP of Consulting at GfK

Where did you live before you purchased your current home with our team?

Anita: A home in Anderson Township 

What was your home BUYING journey like?

Anita: It was very different from what we were used to – this is our 5th house in and out of Cincinnati and previously it had been very easy to find a home quickly.  It had been 10 years since we bought a home so things had obviously changed in the housing market. Our house in Anderson was sold in March, we started looking for a home, closed on our old house in May but still couldn’t find a home so we had to move into an apartment while we looked.  It was frustrating at times because of the lack of inventory, but we were determined to find exactly what we wanted in one of the 3 areas we wanted to reside in. Ultimately we were thrilled with our purchase.

What surprised you about buying your home?  

Anita: One is that we ended up in a ranch that is more of a modern rustic design. We have always gravitated toward 2 or 3 story farmhouse/tudor style homes but this one had the open kitchen/family room to the decks for entertaining that we loved, in the locale that was perfect.  The second is that we ended up with a 2 car garage which was something we thought we would not do – we were spoiled with a 3 car in the last home.

What was your experience like working with The Amy B Sells Team, and Jenny to BUY?  

Anita: Fantastic from beginning to end. Jenny has the patience of a saint and a wonderful attitude – we worked with her for 6 months and there were many ups and downs along the way, along with a lot of frustration from us in the lack of inventory but she was always upbeat and helpful.  She or Katie were always available to show us a house on a minutes’ notice so we didn’t miss out on an opportunity – which was critical in this market.  The home we’re in now would have gotten away from us if Jenny wasn’t so responsive and available.  The team really knows the area and has great rapport with other agents which is so important. When it came time for negotiation and inspection, etc., Jenny gave us great advice and worked with the agent to ensure the closing went through on time.  The team has a lot of contacts as far as contractors go as well, which was really helpful to find trustworthy people to fix things around the house after we moved in!  I really can’t say enough good things about our experience.

What do you love about the community where you recently purchased your home?

Anita:  We love being a mile and a 1/2 from downtown Madeira where we have grocery shopping and great restaurants and stores.  Our daughter’s private school is also a mile and a 1/2 in the other direction without any traffic.  Indian Hill itself is just beautiful with the acre plus yards, parks, trails, and a small town feel.  The residents are incredibly friendly and there are numerous volunteer opportunities and clubs to join.  We couldn’t be happier.

What is your favorite thing about your new home?

Anita: Has to be the great room open to the kitchen.  It makes for wonderful family time even while cooking.

What is your daughter’s favorite thing about her new home?

Anita: She really loves the backyard with the creek and the owls that we have in one of the trees!

What is your favorite thing to do in Cincinnati or your neighborhood?  

Anita: We love the arts, especially going to the Aronoff for the Broadway shows, and trying new restaurants, or just hanging out with our friends.

What is your daughter’s’ favorite thing to do in or around your neighborhood?

Anita:  She loves riding her bike around the neighborhood, the street is perfect for that.  She’s looking forward to more time in the parks as well.  She might get back into horseback riding since there are stables that are so close.

What is your favorite restaurant or bar?  

Anita: Favorite restaurant is a tough one – we have a few…Nicola’s for Italian, Eli’s for BBQ, Orchid’s for fine dining.

Where is your daughter’s favorite place to eat near your new home?  

Anita: Near our home would be Chuy’s – she’s addicted to the green sauce on the enchiladas.  Ferrari’s is quickly becoming a favorite of hers as well.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?  

Anita: I wanted to be either a veterinarian or a genetic engineer.

What was your first job?

Anita: Mucking stalls at a barn so I could afford to board my horse

What is your favorite Vacation Destination?

Anita: Without a doubt – Italy!
